Powell High School Veteran’s Monument

There have been 16 servicemen Killed In Action (combat) protecting our freedoms that were graduates of Powell High School. These 16 men span three wars, WWII, Vietnam and Korean War yet there is no listing of their names anywhere in Powell of their Service and Sacrifice.

The Powell Community has resolved to rectify this oversight. We are erecting a monument in front of Powell High School listing all of their names and the war they fought in and died.

If a community, indeed a nation, is judged by how well it treats, cares and remembers its Veterans, let it be said that Powell cares for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

We owe to these gentlemen more than we can give. But not forgetting them is the least we can do.

Click on the names below to see a summary of their service.
